Members of the Primary Care Informatics Working Group promote and encourage the appropriate development and use of medical informatics in the practice, research, and teaching of primary-care disciplines. The Working Group has elected leaders and currently has committees on Education, Communication, Infrastructure and Research. Other standing ad hoc committees are formed as necessary. Members of the working group are encouraged to participate in these committees. Please e-mail the chair for more information about current activities and what you could contribute. The Working Group welcomes all AMIA members with an interest in primary-care informatics, whether clinician or not, from the U.S. and elsewhere; all perspectives are valued. The current membership of over 600 includes family physicians, internists, nurse practitioners, pediatricians, geriatricians, academicians, managers, psychologists, informaticians and journalists from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Korea, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
